Clinical Detail

How we approach this treatment.

Assessment and skin mapping

Every programme starts by mapping the skin rather than naming a concern: barrier integrity, oil flow, hydration, sensitivity, pigment pattern and scarring depth are each assessed. Two patients with acne rarely need the same protocol, because one may be barrier impaired and inflamed while the other is congested with healthy tolerance to actives.

Programme structure

Treatments are sequenced in phases: repair the barrier, correct the primary concern, then maintain. Intensity is escalated only when the skin proves it can tolerate the previous step. This staged approach avoids the flare ups and prolonged downtime that come from starting too aggressively.

Honest timelines

Skin turns over roughly every 28 days and pigment and scarring remodel far slower than that. A meaningful acne result usually takes three to four months, pigmentation and scarring six months or more. If your goal needs longer than you have, we will say so rather than sell a short course.

Questions

Frequently asked.

How many sessions will I need?

Skin revision is a programme rather than a single treatment. We will outline an honest timeline at consultation.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes. Protocols are carefully selected for your skin type and reactivity.

How is this different from a normal facial?

A salon facial is largely superficial and temporary. Prescription skin revision works on skin function, using clinical grade actives and a home care regime to change how the skin behaves over months.

Will my skin get worse before it gets better?

Some acne and congestion programmes go through a purging phase in the first few weeks as the skin clears. We warn you in advance and plan the programme around any events.

Can you treat pigmentation and melasma?

Yes, with realistic expectations. Melasma is managed rather than cured, needing pigment inhibition, strict daily SPF and ongoing maintenance. We will be honest about relapse risk before you start.

Do I have to buy home care?

Yes. Around 80 percent of the result comes from what you use daily between appointments, so in clinic treatment without prescribed home care is not something we recommend.

Is it safe while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Many actives are not, but we run modified pregnancy safe protocols. Always tell us at consultation so the plan can be adjusted.
