Overview
Polynucleotides are purified DNA fragments that stimulate skin regeneration at a cellular level, improving tone, elasticity and resilience. Particularly effective in delicate areas such as under the eyes.
Benefits
- /Improved skin elasticity and tone
- /Reduced appearance of fine lines and crepiness
- /Excellent for under eye area
- /Promotes long term skin health
Suitable for
- /Tired, crepey under eyes
- /Loss of skin quality and resilience
- /Patients seeking regenerative rather than volumising treatments
Clinical Detail
How we approach this treatment.
How polynucleotides work
Polynucleotides are purified DNA fragments that act as a scaffold and signalling molecule in the skin. They stimulate fibroblast activity, improve local hydration and support the repair of the extracellular matrix, so the skin itself becomes thicker and more resilient rather than being filled or plumped from outside.
Placement and comfort
Delivery is by fine micro injection into the superficial dermis in a measured pattern across the treatment zone. In the periorbital area, placement respects the orbital rim and vascular anatomy and volumes per point are kept small, which keeps swelling brief and results even.
Where they fit in a plan
Polynucleotides are the right answer for skin quality: thin, crepey, dehydrated or fatigued tissue, including under eyes, neck and around the mouth. They are the wrong answer for hollowing, descent or muscle driven lines. Honest sequencing often means treating skin quality first, then reassessing whether structure is needed at all.

Questions
Frequently asked.
When will I see results?
Gradual improvement is visible from 4 weeks, with full results around 3 months after the final session.
Are polynucleotides safe?
Yes. They are a highly biocompatible regenerative treatment with an excellent safety profile.
Are polynucleotides the same as filler?
No. Filler adds volume and holds shape. Polynucleotides add no volume at all, they stimulate the skin to repair and thicken itself, which is why they suit thin, crepey under eye skin where filler would look heavy.
Are they good for under eye treatment in Belfast?
The under eye area is where they perform best. Improvement in crepiness, dark shadowing from thin skin and general tissue quality is typically visible after two to three sessions.
How many sessions will I need?
Two to three sessions spaced three to four weeks apart for most patients, then a top up at six to nine months to maintain the result.
Is there downtime?
Small raised bumps at each injection point settle within a few hours to a day, and light bruising is possible in the under eye area. Most patients plan around a 24 hour window.
Can I have them with filler or anti wrinkle injections?
Yes, often in the same plan but usually at separate appointments so any reaction can be attributed correctly and each treatment is assessed on its own.
