Profile assessment
Chin treatment starts with a side profile assessment: chin projection relative to the lips and nose, labiomental fold depth, vertical height of the lower facial third and whether the concern is skeletal, dental or soft tissue. A recessed chin is one of the most commonly missed reasons a nose looks large or a jaw looks weak.
Technique and product choice
Firm, high projection hyaluronic acid gels are placed deep on the bone at the chin point and pogonion, with softer product used superficially only where contour smoothing is required. Volumes are conservative and staged where a significant change is planned, so that the result develops in a way that still looks like you.
Working with the whole lower face
Chin, jawline and lips are assessed as one unit. Adding lip volume to a recessed chin can worsen the profile, so where the chin is the limiting factor we treat it first and reassess before any lip work.
