Clinical Detail
How we approach this treatment.
Product choice
Booster products differ in how they behave in the skin. Some are highly hydrating and best for dehydration and dullness, others are stabilised to give a mild bio remodelling and firming effect on laxer skin. Selection follows the assessment of hydration, elasticity and skin thickness, not a fixed menu.
Injection pattern and depth
Boosters are placed in a measured grid at consistent superficial dermal depth so the product distributes evenly and the result is uniform. Volume per point is small and deliberate, which is what keeps the classic bumps short lived and avoids lumps in thinner skin such as the neck and under eyes.
Course and maintenance
An initial course of two to three sessions four weeks apart builds the effect, then maintenance every six months holds it. Results are cumulative rather than instant, so we photograph at baseline and review at four weeks after the final session to judge honestly whether it is worth continuing.

Questions
Frequently asked.
When will I see results?
Most patients notice improved hydration within a week and full results 4 weeks after the final session.
How long do results last?
Results typically last 6 to 9 months. Maintenance sessions every 6 months are recommended.
What is the difference between skin boosters and dermal filler?
Filler is placed in defined areas to create shape and support. Skin boosters are spread through the skin to hydrate and improve quality, and they do not add contour or volume.
Where can skin boosters be used?
Face, under eyes, neck, décolletage and the backs of the hands. The neck and décolletage respond particularly well because those areas are often neglected and show dehydration early.
Is there downtime?
Small raised bumps at each injection point usually settle within a few hours and up to 24 hours. Light bruising is possible, so allow a day before an event.
Are skin boosters worth it?
They are worth it if your concern is dull, dehydrated, fine textured skin. If your concern is volume loss, sagging or deep lines, a booster will disappoint you and we would rather say so before you book.
How much are skin boosters in Belfast?
Pricing depends on the product and how many areas are treated, with course pricing for the initial two or three sessions. Exact cost is confirmed at consultation.
